Band of the Week Last week Charlie Chesterman passed away after fighting cancer. Based out of Boston, he fronted the band Scruffy The Cat in the 80s and went on to a solo career in the 90s, with his backing band eventually becoming a full-time outfit called Chaz & The Motorbikes.

His earlier stuff, particularly with Scruffy The Cat was much more “rocking” and he moved on to a sort of “alt-country” vibe in his solo career. The song we want to play is from his second solo album Studebakersfield, and is a great example of where he was and where he was going.
